The Merry Month of May in Carla’s Garden

The most abundant month of the year

Carla Zambelli is sharing the copiousness of leaping in her Malvern , Pennsylvania , garden with us today .

May meansrhododendrons , azalea , peony , the firstroses , and more ! The garden is awash in birdsong and color . Every day is something novel !

A gorgeous dark , rich , redRhododendronin fullspring bloom

White azalea ( Rhododendronhybrid , Zones 5–9 ) and doubleViburnumplicatum(Zones 5–8 ) both present white flower against the rich greens of spring

Carla has art scattered around the garden , and this wooden owl carving looks beautiful and right-hand at home .

Gorgeous yellow tree diagram peony ( Paeoniahybrid , Zones 3–8 ) blooms

A arresting large - blossom clematis ( Clematishybrid , Zones 5–8 ) with layer upon level of petal begin to unfurl

The same clematis a few days later — more petals are open , but more are still to do .

This large - flowered clematis has the most sophisticated bloom , intimately white , edged in the most touchy pink .

A beautiful view of the garden in the shadiness of trees , with a lot of the looker coming from dissimilar - colour foliage .

Here ’s a gracious spot to sit and love the garden , surrounded bypotted plants , many of them tropicals that spend the winters indoors .

Carla sent so many beautiful picture that we ’ll be back in her garden tomorrow to revel more of them !
