It ’s hard to conceive the words as we write them out for today ’s clause – but just nineteen short months after starting construction , the new farm at Old World Garden is ready to host a few visitors !
We are so thrilled to have so many of the projects completed – from the house , tryout garden , cabin , flowerbeds , outdoor b marquee and courtyard – to nigh 3 miles of trails through the 43 acres of woods , we are excited to finally reply “ YES ! ” to so many of the questions that have been coming to us ever since we jump the novel farm speculation .
Questions like :
The new sign is up, and the farm is officially ready for scheduled tours and stays!
From the here and now the first piece of baseball bat was jell in place in former January of 2022 , we dreamed of being able to someday create a outer space that could celebrate gardening , cooking and the capital outdoors . And even more , we want to be capable to someday share it with others .
Our first order of magnitude of business sector last year was to land up enough of the farm to host its first and only consequence of 2022 – our girl ’s wedding in September of last year .
Last spring and summer was a blur for certain . I do n’t recollect either of us catch some Z’s much trying to align the new farmhouse , cabins and a cascade house . Especially since we were also strain to twist a dilapidated sure-enough barn into an case space for the wedding !

But some way and some how , it all add up together . And just in time for a downslope marriage ceremony day that saw the farm be the perfect background for some 200 guests . It certainly did n’t hurt we were lucky enough to have it be sunny and a near perfect 78 ° too !
For so many understanding , the solar day was so incredibly especial . The once in a lifespan chance to take the air my daughter the down the gangway . Being capable to have all of our children home on the farm . And of course , being able to share it all with fantastic friends and family .
But there was also something else we just could n’t help but smile about . The farm came alive that weekend ! The bride , groom and the wedding party fill up the cabins and farm with life for the entire weekend .
With the ceremony take place on the front lawn and the receipt taking place in the courtyard and party barn area , it was unbelievable to see all of the spaces become particular . And it made us realize how much we revel natural process and being able to share the farm with others . And it was then and there we decide to make it befall !
After take a few week to loosen and recuperate after the hymeneals , we set about to cerebrate about the farm ’s future . More to the point , how could we give up the farm to deal it more and still hold the spirit we have grown to love here .
To be honest , we built the farm and cabins with the intent of using them for family weekends , particular events and perhaps to host a few of our gardening classes each springtime . And those are for certain all things we will be doing in the future !

But that leaves a sight of spring , summer and fall day that our cabin and farm construction ride empty . So we think – why not open them up for others to enjoy !
After all , one of these days in the long remote future we are going to hang up our writing , blogging and podcasting ways . And when we do , we only want to enjoy our farm and allow others to as well . And perhaps produce a picayune farm “ get by ” would be just the retreat projection Mary and I would someday enjoy most !
The Farm At Old World Garden – Come Tour, Visit & Stay!
One thing is for sure , we eff masses , food , conversation and activity . And I can pretty much say for certain that will never deepen .
With that in mind , we have adjudicate to open up our cabin house and sleeping cabin for circumscribed rentals this year – and host an Open House sometime belatedly this drop that will sport term of enlistment of the farm , garden , trail and more . ( more to come on that afterward )
We then will give the farm up for more issue ahead of time next springiness , including garden and cookery class , monthly Farm to Table dinner , circuit and more . For us , it is extremely authoritative to keep it simple , playfulness and achievable .

Located just 2 minutes off of I-70 , the cabin sport a fully equipt kitchen . An galvanic range , microwave oven and full size refrigerator allow full meals to be made easily . With a full queen layer in the loft bedroom upstairs and a rive out full size couch seam in the main living area , it can sleep a maximum of ( 4 ) grownup .
There is a roomy covered back porch with a natural gas grill and outdoor dining table for four . There is also a fire pit area outside all with views of the wooded rooftree below . Sir Henry Wood is provided for free for the fire pit . The property includes hiking trail that are open to guests .

The Garden Cottage will be the first of a few sleeping cabin we will propose for nightlong stays at the farm . We designed each of our sleeping cabin to be getaway spaces where visitors can have their own blank and place to enjoy inwardly and out – and yet still have access to walk about and enjoy the farm .
The Garden Cottage is a mo special in that it is located at once in front of our visitation garden at Old World Garden Farm . The cabin offers a comfortable queen size seam , couch and sitting area and a modest dining table for two inside . It also has stop up in A / C and a little ( residence hall style ) refrigerator and deep freezer .

In increase to a single accounting entry room access , there are a solidifying of two-fold door that open up up to a small patio surface area with two chair and common style grill .
