SixOnSaturday
greeting from the Temperate Desert Zone of the Kew Gardens blistering house . Oh wait , no , it ’s just my back garden . Well over a month without rainwater now . Still no sign of a hosepipe Bachelor of Arts in Nursing , fortunately , so while tediously time squander , it is still potential to keep most thing alive . “ Most ” is an of import qualifier , there are some thing which just do n’t make it . Anything still in a sens , especially a small pot , is vulnerable to drying out . It only call for one day of neglect with the watering for this to happen . Guilty as charge yer honour . Multiple offences to be taken into account , time off for honorable behaviour . Still , I have oversee to keep enough things alive and kicking to furnish this calendar week ’s Six on Saturday . Six affair , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything ! A flower , a good foliage , a pest , a completed labor , a harvest , an low-down failure , anything at all . Join in !
Here are my Six for this week .

1 – Cosmos ‘ White Knight ’ . The last couple of years have been unmanageable universe - wise . For some intellect I was unable to spring up successfully from seed . Germination was poor , those that did were poorly plants , and/or I neglected them . This year I have a good few of these white cosmos dotted about . I grow them from cum provided bySuttons . I think I choose the coloured ones , not sure I ’d get these again .
2 – Clematis , purple’un . The name is lost to chronicle , as was the plant , I intend . It has represent a recovery this yr , even put out half a 12 flowers . They are a salutary purple colour , put up out well against the wisteria foliage . I hope it sticks around next class and puts on a better show .
3 – Lobelia tupa . uprise from seed last year , it did n’t do a whole lot , get to no more than a few inches grandiloquent and not show any sign of flowering . This year is a different kettle of fish . It has grown into a decent size industrial plant , a good 3 feet high and across , with stem each bearing a efflorescence spindle . The flowers are n’t quite fully out , but they ’re on their way . I ’m interested to see how long they last .

4 – Zinnia ‘ Queen Red Lime ’ . Queenie here was rise from seed this year , also fromSuttons . I have a blind blot with annual , I place them off , prick them out , then often draw a blank all about them , resulting in frequent death by the aforementioned too - minor - a - slew . A few of these slide through my determined disuse , grow into expert little plant life and florescence . A second of failing , wo n’t happen again .
5 – Poppy ‘ Lauren ’s Grape ’ . Another escapee from my carelessness , these are yearly I believe . They should get to 3′ tall , but are more like a 18″ high just now , and a bit spindly . Still , flowers are emerging , and they are purple , so whaddayaknow .
6 – Impatiens . I bury exactly what these are . New Guinea impatiens perhaps ? bribe for penny a plant life in Morrison a calendar month or so back . They amount in red , white and this pinky red one . I have them in the front course of the shady border .

Have a super weekend , remember to go over back as more link get add together during the daylight . It ’s going to be yet another scorcher here . More tearing . Sigh .
I ’ll be back next week with another # SixOnSaturday .
