Ok ok it ’s not wintertime yet , we have a few calendar month of unspoiled garden conditions , in theory . it is sentence for Six on Saturday . Six thing , in the garden , on a Saturday . Could be anything , a flower , a chore to do , a trouble to solve , a pest , a sens , anything at all . fall in in !

– Clematis recta purpurea . A herbaceous form of clematis , this buy the farm back to the ground every winter . I produce this from cum three or four years ago . It stay quite small , but I planted it out a couple of years ago . Last year it sprawled about the billet but did n’t do anything atrociously telling . This year it is more worthy of its billet , a few feet high and flowering quite nicely . The foliage is more royal green than the common this pic implies .

-Bean physique . The veggie plot is a piece of a fix at the moment , and rather weedy too , but the beans are doing ok . I built this rather Heath Robinson affair a month or two back . Loosely model on a more racy Munty Frame , the idea is the bean grow up the back then over the “ ceiling ” , but you’re able to maturate other things underneath them . The runners are on the right , quite grandiloquent now , the mounting beans are on the left , a lot forgetful but catching up . I will be concerned to see how it knock off when the dome plant have full arise , I fear a hard air current might topple the draw . I have total two large poles to give it a fleck more strength , but we shall see .

– Allium ‘ Summer Drummer ’ . These are now very tall , get on for seven foot , sure as shooting they are improbable than me and I ’m evenhandedly tall . As the name suggests they do flush later than most genus Allium . The prime heads are eventually the sizing of a fist , but they are more the size of a decent conker at the import . I in reality plant these two years ago but they did n’t do much last year , just flopped about like failed leek . I was pleasantly surprised to see reappear this class and even more so when they grew more or less upright .

– Foxgloves , Pam ’s alternative , or variations on a theme . Some of these I grew from seed last yr , some I bought inexpensive in the garden centre . I wish a foxglove . They flowered belatedly this twelvemonth , unremarkably they are done in May . These are nearly finished now actually , I have been selective in my picture taking . I will dig up them up and exchange with dahlias or possibly tithonia , or even ricinus . I have a few thing to choose from . I have grown more foxgloves this year , those will get planted out in October , replacing the replacements . And on it buy the farm .

– Rose ‘ The Pilgrim ’ . This climbing iron has short go into overdrive , flowering with gusto . I need to get in there and dead head teacher a morsel . One of three roses rise in containers against this bit of wall , all of which are doing fabulously well . I planted it two or three years ago and it has found very well , mature to breed quite a lot of wall .

– Sanguisorba menziesii . Another works uprise from germ 3 or 4 years ago . It did scarce anything in year 1 , planted in the ground year 2 . Last year it put on a flake of development but did n’t flower . This yr as you may see it has extract itself together , at least to the extent that it has flowered . It is planted in the louche border , but mighty on the boundary where it get a footling bit of sun in the afternoon . I am bright that this twelvemonth it will form a enough clump and make its front words blot .
