Having been a vegetarian for over 40 old age , I have a prominent repertoire of recipes boast legume : beans , lentil plant , split peas , Egyptian pea , etc . I have written a number of recipes using them in various blog over the years . Here is an unpublished preferent formula for Tortilla Pie and data link to seven recipes with pulse .
Not - precisely - a - Recipe for Quick and Tasty Tortilla Pie
Exact proportion do n’t really count in this formula . I have never made this the same fashion double , yet it is always well receive . Even if they are on the run or otherwise occupied , this pie generally brings my family to the table . We love black beans , however , pintos are as tasty in this dish ; if I have leftover dark-brown rice I tot that in a level . I can put this together in about 10 bit and it use up 25 to 30 minutes to bake . If there are leftovers , whoever fuck off up first generally has it for breakfast .

serve 4 to 6
About 8 whole - pale yellow tortilla ( 8 to 9 - inch size ) , warmedAbout 3 cup fudge or canned black or pinto bonce , whole or refried cooked with some ail or add a few pressed or minced cloves , along with other seasoning ; heatedAbout 1 cupful chop onion or gullible onions2 to 3 cups grated American cheese cheeseAbout 2 cup of enchilada sauce or red-hot salsaAbout 1 cup fresh coriander plant leaves , washed and dry out
Have all of your ingredients quick . If you have cook your beans from dried you in all probability have seasoned them with garlic , chiles and Cuminum cyminum , perhaps oregano or epazote ; if they are canned , put them in a strainer and wash them ; transfer them to a cooking pan and heat them with some of the said flavoring . Refried beans work well since they circularise easily and do n’t fall off the bed ; if using whole bean plant , mash about half of them ( a potato woman chaser figure out well for this ) and leave some whole for grain . Chop onion plant and grate cheese . If using enchilada sauce , heat it ; salsa should not be inhuman but at elbow room temperature .

Preheat the oven to 375º F and oil a Proto-Indo European plate or round casserole . commence by placing a spoonful of sauce / salsa in the bottom of the home plate and place a tortilla on top . Spread the tortilla with about 3/4 cupful of bonce and sprinkle lightly with Malva sylvestris . order another tortilla on top and spoon some sauce / salsa ( about 1/2 loving cup or so ) on it to overcompensate and splash it with cheese , disperse a few onions and cilantro leave of absence overall . Add another tortilla and jump with the bean and sauce / salsa layers until you have used up all of your ingredients . ( Sometimes you have more bean plant or more sauce / salsa - the next to the last layer can be a repeat or just use up what is leave - no one will notice - you may not habituate all of the tortillas . ) Save some sauce / salsa and cheese for the top layer .
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until bubble and heat throughout and favourable brownness on top . take from oven and garnish with some chopped onion and coriander leave . ignore into 8 wedges and attend spicy .
