The longer I garden , the more I come to value the knockout , huskiness , and benefits of native flora . They put up essential food and forage requirements for wildlife and are often best suit to local weather conditions . I would n’t necessarily call myself a native - plant life purist . I believe that finding the right Libra is the Francis Scott Key , and in some representative , mixing native with nonnatives ( or close relatives ) may in reality raise the benefits to wildlife .
