Flowers through the seasons
My name is Pam Zimmerman , and I garden in State College , Pennsylvania ( Zone 5b ) .
I ’ve been gardening at this nursing home since 2006 . I haveshadein thefront of the houseand sun in the back gardens . I ’m challenged by black walnut trees along the back of my dimension anddeerroaming through my backyard . I ’m planning to do more experiment withnative plantsto attract morebirds and pollinatorsand because I ’ve learned that many native plants will survive near fatal walnut tree diagram .
InMay , one of my garden beds exhibit a bearded iris(Irishybrid , Zones 3–8 ) earlier from my aunt ’s garden andtransplantedthrough the age from other gardens at other home . The balance of the bed is still green , waiting its clip to flower .

The same seam in earlyJulyfeatured the Shasta daisy(Leucanthemum× superbum‘Becky ’ , Zones 5–9 ) and coreopsis(Coreopsisverticilata‘Moonbeam ’ , Zones 3–9 ) in full rosiness .
Later in July , the Shasta daisy and coreopsis started to fade , butgarden phlox(Phlox paniculata , zone 4–8 ) , hydrangea(Hydrangea paniculata‘Limelight ’ , Zones 3–8),dahlia(Dahlia‘Debra Renae ’ , Zones 8–10 or as a cutter bulb ) , Russian sage(Salviayangii , Zones 5–9 ) . I like to bug out someannuals from seedor seedling in large pots and then transfer them into the garden where there are bare spot after the perennial are done bloom . I keep to “ insert in ” plants all summertime . Here you could see one-year zinnias(Zinniaelegans),snapdragons(Antirrhinummajus)and white angelonia(Angeloniaangustifolia ) .
Salvia(Salvia nemorosa , Zones 3–8 ) with purple spikes bloom next to a happy clump of chives(Alliumschoenoprasum , Zones 4–8 ) .

Peonies(Paeoniahybrid , Zones 3–8 ) take center stage with glowing salad days , their warm colouring material echoed by the other plant around them .
Inearly summer , thecontainerof annual reverberate the blooms of the perennial in the garden bed behind them .
In this tapestry of flower , bright lantana(Lantanacamara , Zones 9–10 or as an yearly ) echoes the glow colors of the large daylily(Hemerocallishybrid , Zones 3–9 ) behind it .
