The Old World Garden Organic Farm threaten … ..
This is not a normal post for us – but one we are lamentable to say happened quite short tonight and that now threatens everything that we have done at Old World Garden Farms .
Our constitutive Strawberry Popcorn

Our organic Strawberry Popcorn
While working on our farm this eve – we were approached by a local farmer that inform us we would need to protect our bee because he was about to spray Round Up to the small 8 acre parcel of land - locked belongings that is adjacent to our garden and farm .
This property owned by a neighbour of ours has only been used for gardening and an open study for the past 5 years – and is not attached to any large farm demesne . strange to us – this James Leonard Farmer had made a deal with the farming owner to put in 8 acres of GMO soybean conterminous to our organic farm , chicken and bees . He also let us know that he would be spraying insecticide in May and that we would need to interlock up our bee for that fourth dimension period too – and told us as the solution we should believably have bought that land too – or we could pay him $ 4000 for his campaign . improbable !
When we explained that we possess our dry land and had worked for 5 old age now to make our constituent farm – he plainly say that he would do what he demand to do , and tell apart us that constitutive husbandry was n’t all it was cracked up to be .

Bees don’t stand much of a chance when right next to a Round Up field
bee do n’t stand much of a chance when mightily next to a Round Up field of honor
It is so sad that tonight our five class project to grow 100 % organically has become threatened . This land sits above ours , and there is no doubt that we will have all of the tally - off of chemical substance flat on our piddling farm – not to name that the insect powder and Round Up will end up in our garden , compost and wimp henhouse domain .
We will do everything we can – including trying for an emergency restraining order of magnitude against the spraying . I detect it wry that his solution to our trouble was for us to move our bee – and garden – even thought we have been here for 5 years on owned land and not rent land .

I can candidly say that tonight may be one of the saddest days of our lilliputian farm ’s existence . It is sad that people can not and will not endeavor to understand others who endeavor to live a life history free of chemicals and sprays .
We will keep you post .
