Today we ’re run back to Maryland to claver Louise Lawrence . She says,“I have lived in Shady Side , Maryland , for 25 years and have maxed out the garden seam on my 5,000 - straight - animal foot lot . I have about 300 square fundament of lawn , and the quietus is planted with perennials , bush , etc .
“ The yard is Elkton Othello flood plain soil ( lots of clay ) and very shady . There ’s some serendipity run low on now as plants volunteer for new areas in the yard and create fresh pairings of involvement . Recently I ’ve had an influx of butterflies and have included some snaps that do n’t begin to capture the out-and-out numbers , I count 23 swallowtails on just the Joe Pye Weed today . ”
