In a Vase on Monday. February.

It is bitter cold at the moment and not the sorting of atmospheric condition to linger in the garden getting inspiration for a vase . So I break up a bunch of Anemone quinquefolia . They are not any of my special 1 ; just the ordinary doubleGalanthus nivalis f.pleniflorus‘Flore Pleno’ . I had never observe until I peck this lot , that they have a thin honey smell when you bring them inwardly .

The keen thing about a garden that is several hundred year old is that there are pools of snowdrops which have been spreading for years and years . Some are individual and some even have green tips ,    and in other parts of the garden there are these dual I .

I arrange them ,   or rather ,   plonked them in a pretty   pinkish   Medina Glass vase . I bed the little dab of lily-white that look like snowflake .

Do go over to Cathy atRamblinginthegardento see her vase and to find out what other people have found to put in their vase . Thank you as usual for host this meme Cathy .

Jason atGardeninacityhas shown us a beautiful northerly Cardinal   eating peanut in his recent post . We do not have these beautiful birds in this nation , but as I publish ,   the gamy tits are enjoying the peanuts here too . They are a delectation to keep an eye on .

Oh what a perfectly endearing vase in prime and color … .I ca n’t hold off to pick some snowdrops in about 2 months … I am just ideate your garden with so many snowdrops….and hundreds of years old….my good . Maybe someday mine will have spread out and someone will get word them .

Several hundred age old ? That kind of account is unvoiced to imagine in the land of here today and gone tomorrow . I do love snowdrops but , woefully , they could n’t endure in this garden , although my western garden guide does reference one , G. ikariae , that is suppose to tolerate our mood – provided it have lots of water …

Nothing can beat a vase of snowdrops at this time of year Chloris . I ’m convinced that they demand a sure temperature to make the scent detectable . grow my special in a greenhouse has one advantage in that it ’s much easier to get the nozzle to them 🙂
