Today ’s photos are from Gregg and Kindra Bolsinger in Cincinnati , Ohio . Gregg says,“My wife and I garden in suburban area , on a one - acre lot . Our lot started as the typical constructor stack ; pretty savourless , grassy , with a small pedestal of wild locust tree and hackberry trees .

We ’re in Cincinnati , geographical zone 6 . Like many gardeners , we have been forced to co - exist with the increasing deer population . We lose a few small trees , perrenials and countless flower from various works every year . Every trip to the nursery is a genial exercise of “ now , what plants are cervid insubordinate ? ” It ’s not uncommon to see a half 12 cervid roaming at dawn or fall around the neighborhood .

However , what severalise us from many typical gardeners is that we in truth enjoy the deer . How can you not appreciate a 110 - 200 - Ezra Pound animate being that somehow raises a family in your backyard ? They ’re beautiful to watch grazing in the one thousand ( the beds , not so much ! ) and can stop me dead in my tracks as I catch a glance of one from the windowpane . For the past 5 year we have had dun born in our yard . It ’s always a surprisal to disclose them , and commonly it ’s when we ’ve been knead in the yard only to discover them a few yard away .

Anyway , I thought everyone might enjoy the other side of a nice garden ; one in harmony with the cervid , and not a fortress or aromatic barrier against them . It ’s take us about 7 years , but deer resistant horticulture can leave in a nice looking garden . Included are our 2012 season of Modern fawns , an unidentified tree frog / sugarberry barque ( Can you notice it ? ) pic , a sweet autumn clematis(20′ grandiloquent ) , and finally , a moving-picture show of my married woman set at our new ‘ bridge ’ with Haley , our delivery pawl . ”

Gregg , that bark exposure had me stumped for a minute ! Before I learn you e-mail , I thought you were just sharing some interesting bark ! So coolheaded , and your garden is just gorgeous . The grayish brown , as much as I hesitate to say it , considering the typical nurseryman / deer family relationship , are fantastically cute . And I have a feeling that Tractor1 will approve of this billet …
