A gardener loves her new climate
Today ’s picture come from Peggy Rupert .
Our garden is in Brookings , Oregon , on Pacific Coast . you could get a glance of the Pacific in the background of some of the photos . We go here from Reno , Nevada , a year and a half ago . In Reno , I garden for 48 years despite crazy wandering temperatures , dry flatus , and cold winters . I am now gardening a mile from the ocean in a place with mild atmospheric condition and an average of 76 inches of pelting a year and am but AMAZED at how things grow here !
Can you trust these tremendous snapdragon ( Antirrhinummajus , annual ) ? They ’re over 6 feet improbable ! Notice as well that you could see just a bit of the ocean in the background . Snapdragons need nerveless weather and ample fertilizer and wet to achieve these huge sizes . If you want to grow enormous snapshot , you also have to opt the right varieties . Many modern snapdragons have been spawn to stay short , so bet for one-time - fashioned varieties or selections that have been engender for cut flowers .

An overview of the garden .
Containers and in - ground plantings complement each other . It is tantalising to jam a million unlike plants into a container , but sometimes just one simple plant is stark . Case in point : the just wonderful mint in the center of this photo occupy with hens and bird ( Sempervivum , Zones 3–8 ) .
blistering - colorize flowers and foliage lead you up to the front steps , with the monster snapdragons seeable in the background .

A view down a endearing lawn . What a lush , peaceable paradise !
Color in the garden does n’t have to come from flowers . Here a mostly immature scene is accented by shining orange pumpkins sit on the top of the gradation .
