Derek Woodruff has done a little bit of everything in the flowered designing manufacture . Derek has always had a love of gardening for most of his life . As a child , he developed an sake in prehistorical plants and botany after keep an eye on Jurassic Park . At the age of 16 , he took up floral innovation in a vocational school and subsequently found a problem at a bloom store . While many teenagers do n’t always recognise what way of life their life will take , Derek was fortunate to find his love early in life . Today he lead his own business organization , Floral Underground .
Although Floral Underground has always been evolving since its origin , Derek ’s participation with American Grown is one aspect that remains changeless . He has always used either locally grown blossom or Certified American Grown floral in his business , no matter the time of year . He discovered American Grown after attending various conferences and eventually school himself on the topic . He has since realized the importance of using fresh , locally grow flowers .
This may be Derek ’s first time design a Field to Vase Dinner , but he ’s no alien to the experience . He attended a dinner at Fern Trust a few years ago , and after that , he straightaway have it off he wanted to project one someday . Derek feels excited about the unique challenge a dinner like this will bring . He ’s never done an event quite like this before , so he look forward to diving event into something new . “ I lie with challenges , ” he enunciate . “ As a former competition designer , I have a go at it experiences that campaign my creativity , elevate my accomplishment hardening , and help me improve my fourth dimension direction skill and material selections . I ’m always interested in bettering myself . ”
