I think of thisMonsterapinnatipartitaas my “ soul flora . ” My husband buy it for me in September 2021 as a congratulatory gift , because I was stagnant in my old place and prefer to take a footmark back and make a sidelong move life history - wise in lodge to keep get on . This plant was dead for the first eight months , then set off raise with a retribution . It has already needed to berepottedtwice for keep growing .
Sometimes when it looks like you are n’t visibly grow , you ’re actually get on the inside and working on your “ roots ” ( aka your mental and emotional wellness ) and laying the base for your future self . Then when the right time comes , you ’ll have strong aroused and mental “ ascendant ” to support your new outward growth .

These tropical plant are huddling together outside and attempt to survive an unusual cold spell inSouthern California — and they ’re doing dandy . We really need to chill out with the helicopter – plant parenting because plants are SO much more resilient than we give them credit for .
Maranta leuconerais an easy plant that just chugs along and never gives me problems .
I spill a lot of crap about calatheas , but thisCalathea majestica“White Star ” is a favorite plant in my compendium . It is prone tospider mites , so I have to keep it far away from the rest of my plants . It ’s worth it , though , because look at the leafage !

I loved myMaranta leuconeura‘Beauty Kim ’ when I first got her , even during her wretched phase .
And look at her now !
I am obsess with thisAnthurium vittarifoliumat theSan Diego Botanic Garden . It ’s as long as I am tall !

I nonplus this Florida Beauty philodendron as a thinly rootedcutting , and it ’s been quite the lesson in patience ! We ’re well on our way to a prominent beautiful works someday .
