Inspired by English-style gardening
Today ’s photograph are from Cathy Hollis in Englewood , Colorado .
When my husband and I moved to this home in the suburbs of Denver 10 old age ago , the landscaping was almost exclusively grass . We envisioned a Colorado version of an English border garden ( my hubby is from England ) . We need to create a garden that is beautiful and coloured for all seasons while being more water - wise . The backyard borders open up space and a pocket-size farm , with perspective of the mount as a incentive feature . The leaping garden showcases a variety of tulips that accent a ground ofEuphorbiapolychroma(Zones 5–9 ) . We have many variety of rose wine , including Morden Centennial Canadian rose bush , Knock Out roses , Flower Carpet flat coat cover rose , and teatime roses . Perennial favorites such asNepeta‘Walker ’s Low ’ ( Zones 3–8),Salvia‘May Night ’ ( Zones 4–9),Heliopsis(Zones 3–9 ) , PowWow Wild Berry coneflower(Echinaceahybrid , Zones 3–8),Geranium‘Rozanne ’ ( Zones 5–8 ) , andSedum‘Autumn Joy ’ ( Zones 3–9 ) keep the garden coloured all time of year .

In the courtyard garden off the patio , the line in plant grain is a focusing .
In this view of the backyard from the patio , a compact Sherwood pine tree ( Pinus mugo‘Sherwood ’ , Zones 2–7 ) is seeable in the foreground .
