I captured a guessing of a threefin blenny on today ’s snorkeling head trip to the beach in Rapallo , Italy .

I ’m a big lumbering lummox sort of hombre , and maybe that ’s part of why I ’m fascinated with all the little creatures on the planet . I really like looking at all the different bugs in the garden . We ’ve had some spectacular new black - and - chicken - blemish hornets , some little spotted scorpions and some big iridescent ass-kisser in the last few days . vainglorious sport for me!Another thing that ’s liberal play for me is the fact that we live walking distance from the beach here .

Today , I got to enjoy one of my favorite summertime jaunt : My married woman and I go to the beach for lunch . I went in the water for an hour and took a bunch of photo and video time of the Pisces the Fishes Then when I came back to shoring , tiffin was ready for me on the beach towels . It ’s a rough life !

Threefin blennies are entranced by the black gloves I bear while snorkel diving .

The temperature is around 90 degree Fahrenheit here these days , so the pee in the Mediterranean really heats up and it feels like Tahiti .   Because there are not many wave except during windy days and storm , Rapallo , Italy , is a great place for snorkeling . Today , it was really tranquil , so I could hoist in and out of all the lilliputian crack along the shoreline without getting battered . All the different - colored seaweeds and crusty growths were exceptionally beautiful in the sparkling clear water today . Although the fish are smaller here than in Hawaii where I used to go snorkelling a lot , they are every mo as stunningly color . The fish that get most of my attention are the colourful small threefin blenny ( of the genusTrypterigion ) that live in holes on the rock nigh to the piss open . The rock and outgrowth can be sharp , so I wear neoprene gloves to fend off the rock music as I work my way along the shoreline with my camera in a charge plate corner . The threefin blennies are sort of shy , and they quickly retreat tail first into their little holes , so photographing them is a trick . I used to do a lot of minuscule - stream trout fishing , so I know something about sneaking up on Pisces the Fishes by moving in slowing and unobtrusively . But still , get one of the lilliputian buggers to sit still while I snap pic is fairly hard . But after a few eld of chase these fish around with my photographic camera I made a curious discovery . One day , I had to perk up myself from some waves induce by a local ferry , and I put my gloved hired hand out in front on the sway .   After I jounce in the waves for a few bit I point out that there was a group of threefin blenny gathered around my black glove . Hmm , I mean , it seems as if they are actually attract to my glove . A few experiments subsequently , I became convinced that the Pisces the Fishes are really react defensively , as if the disastrous baseball mitt somehow represent a romantic rival . Ha!Anyway , these daytime I apply the black baseball glove magic frequently . The photos for today ’s blog are of a few of the piddling fish that came and sit on my gloves today .
